چکیده

In this paper, Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) is proposed to cancel the electrocardiogram (ECG) interference in electromyogram (EMG) signal. Conventional filtering techniques are not suitable due to an overlap in spectral content of the desired signal (EMG) and the interference. Comparison of results is made between the proposed technique and the other artificial intelligence techniques like Back Propagation Network (BPN), and Cascade Correlation Network (CCN). The performance evaluation of the proposed technique is done in terms of signal to noise ratio, mean square error, and convergence time. It shows that ANFIS successfully cancel the interference in EMG signal.

Amplitude cancellation reduces the size of motor unit potentials averaged from the surface EMG.

The purpose of the study was to evaluate the influence of selected physiological parameters on amplitude cancellation in the simulated surface electromyogram (EMG) and the consequences for spike-triggered averages of motor unit potentials derived from the interference and rectified EMG signals. The surface EMG was simulated from prescribed recruitment and rate coding characteristics of a motor ...

Epoch length to accurately estimate the amplitude of interference EMG is likely the result of unavoidable amplitude cancellation

Researchers and clinicians routinely rely on interference electromyograms (EMGs) to estimate muscle forces and command signals in the neuromuscular system (e.g., amplitude, timing, and frequency content). The amplitude cancellation intrinsic to interference EMG, however, raises important questions about how to optimize these estimates. For example, what should the length of the epoch (time wind...

Cancellation of Cardiac Interference in Diaphragm EMG Signals using an Estimate of ECG Reference Signal

The analysis of the electromyographic signal of the diaphragm muscle (EMGdi) can provide important information in order to evaluate the respiratory muscular function. However, EMGdi signals are usually contaminated by the electrocardiographic (ECG) signal. An adaptive noise cancellation (ANC) based on event-synchronous cancellation can be used to reduce the ECG interference in the recorded EMGd...

A Survey of Interference Cancellation in Biosignals

Interference cancellation is widely used in a number of application such as acoustic and speech signal processing, data communication, biological signal acquisition etc. Many papers with different approaches have been reported to cancel interferences in biosignals. This paper provides a survey of existing methods for interference cancellation in ECG signal, FECG signal, EEG signal, and EMG sign...

Amplitude cancellation of motor-unit action potentials in the surface electromyogram can be estimated with spike-triggered averaging.

The study presents analytical, simulation, and experimental analyses of amplitude cancellation of motor-unit action potentials (APs) in the interference electromyogram (EMG) and its relation to the size of the spike-triggered average (STA) EMG. The amount of cancellation of motor-unit APs decreases monotonically as a function of the ratio between the root mean square (RMS) of the motor-unit AP ...
